Hi! Welcome to Ada J Events. I'm Jade, owner and consultant. When I was 19 years old I started working for a wedding caterer as a server in Durham Region. Little did I know I would fall in love with the wedding industry! I worked with the company for 6 years, working my way up as lead server, bartender, manager to eventually General Manager. As General Manager, I met with all couples, planned and executed their special days and ran a staff of 25+ servers, bartenders and event staff. We provided services for full planning, full setup, day of coordination and tear down. I learned the most while in this position, executing over 120 weddings per year. In between I also attended Durham College for their special events planning program. Then I moved onto another company as their General Manager for events. Covid hit, and of course we were all sat at home with no events sadly. I started working for a social media management company and planned virtual events for large scale clients. Throughout Covid I was also planning my own wedding. We got engaged in 2019 and moved our date 3 times until finally getting married September 2021. Through my own wedding planning and many bored days of scrolling through wedding Tik Tok, and always wanting to have my own event planning business, I realized there are hundreds of brides out there who don't have the budget or need for a full wedding planner but would have greatly benefited from a simple consultation. Being able to sit down with someone, ensure nothing is being missed, figuring out your budget, and having that reassurance would have made such a difference in all the bride's weddings who had to post a "Here is what I regret from my wedding" video. So Ada J Events was born, to help ensure no bride has any regrets or things she forgets, when it comes to her wedding!
